The Story of Them is a personalised wooden memorial plaque created to preserve the memories, milestones and small details that made someone special.
Rather than using a standard memorial verse, we turn the information you provide into a unique written tribute. Their names, important dates, personality, family memories and meaningful moments are brought together into one lasting keepsake.
Each plaque is designed, laser engraved and hand-finished in our small workshop in Bo’ness, Scotland.
Created From Your Memories
After placing your order, we will send you a short questionnaire where you can share details such as:
- Their full name
- Important dates
- Family relationships
- Favourite sayings
- Hobbies and interests
- Cherished memories
- Personality and values
- Meaningful places or moments
- Any special message you would like included
You do not need to write the finished tribute yourself. Notes, bullet points and simple memories are enough for us to begin.
Your Tribute, Approved by You
We use the information you provide to carefully draft a flowing memorial story.
AI may be used to help organise and shape the initial wording, but every tribute is personally reviewed and edited by us. Nothing is engraved until you have seen the finished wording and confirmed that you are happy with it.
You can request reasonable amendments before approving the final version.
Handmade in Scotland
Once the wording has been approved, we prepare the design and laser engrave it directly onto the wooden plaque.
Each piece is then checked and hand-finished in our workshop before being packaged for dispatch.
Because wood is a natural material, the colour, grain and engraving depth may vary slightly. These differences give every plaque its own individual character.

- Review the tribute we prepare.
- Approve the wording or request any amendments.
- We engrave and finish your plaque.

Your tribute and memories will not be published on our website or social media without your clear permission. Working documents are used only to create your order and are handled with care.
Please allow approximately 7–10 working days from approval of the wording for your plaque to be prepared and dispatched.
